Your story may be featured on our 50th anniversary website,, and included in print and digital communications to the millions of people who are navigating life with Alzheimer’s disease, macular degeneration, or glaucoma. #BoldResearchCan Giveaway Rules

This contest is presented by BrightFocus Foundation to increase awareness about Alzheimer’s disease, macular degeneration, and glaucoma.  

Contestants must be 18 years or older to submit their story and to be eligible to win prizes.

Voting, liking, and commenting will not impact whether or not you are chosen as a contest winner.

Giveaway recipients will be chosen using a randomized name-picking tool. You must submit your story using our online form to be eligible for prizes. Additional entries can be added when you follow BrightFocus Foundation on social media and share original posts using the hashtag #BoldResearchCan and tag BrightFocus Foundation or its programs (Alzheimer's Disease Research, Macular Degeneration Research, National Glaucoma Research). All posts must be made public. The more entries you have, the greater your chances of being chosen for a prize.

Giveaway recipients must reside in the United States.

Please limit stories to 600 words.

BrightFocus Foundation will announce the first giveaway recipient by late June 2023. Future giveaway opportunities and dates will be announced throughout 2023.

Giveaway recipients will be notified via email and announced via email and BrightFocus social media pages.  

Entrants agree to give permission to BrightFocus to use their photo(s), name, likeness, and recipes without charge for the purpose of raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease, macular degeneration, and/or glaucoma, for donor communications, and to publicize the #BoldResearchCan campaign and giveaway, and possible future giveaways.  

BrightFocus employees, board members, and affiliates are not eligible to be awarded giveaway items.  

All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.

Participating entrants agree that BrightFocus, its subsidiaries, participating sponsors, affiliates, officers, directors, agents, and their employees shall not be responsible for lost, misdirected, illegible, or late entries.

BrightFocus reserves the right to remove any posts that do not meet our online code of conduct.

By submitting your story, entrants accept these rules and agree to be bound by the results of the prize selection. Decisions made by BrightFocus are final.

Eligible story entries must be original, authentic, and address what #BoldResearchCan means to you, the impact that bold research has had on your or a loved one’s life, and/or what you or your loved one is doing to stay hopeful and future-focused.
